Our History, Our Mission

Writing our World Publishing (WOW Publishing) established the Read.Write.Share. Writers Weekend (AKA known as RWS Weekend) in 2015, as a follow-up to a one-year memoir writing workshop held with new and emerging writers. The first RWS Weekend was held at Petit Jean Mountain, located in Morrilton, Arkansas. The 2017 RWS Weekend was held in Little Rock, Arkansas.

RWS Weekend serves as a retreat for new writers, authors in the process of crafting new (or existing) stories, or those interested in learning the basics of writing. While the initial goal was to focus on personal storytelling, memoir writing, and writing nonfiction, novelists and fiction writers are encouraged to attend the Writers Weekend.

Our Weekend Structure

The RWS Weekend is led by co-founders Janis F. Kearney and Iris M. Williams, Arkansas authors and publishers. The three-day gathering offers new and emerging writers an intimate retreat from their everyday lives to share space and experiences with other writers.

Seminars and workshops offer participants information on publishing, editing, writing, graphic design and social media production. A luncheon featuring a keynote speaker and the final session which offers participants an opportunity to share their stories via a public reading is highlights events of the weekend. Published authors may also sell and sign books during the Book Fair.
